Yesterday I started my journey across Europe from Belfast Grand Central Station. My only mishap before I got here was to forget my passport. Taxi driver was more than happy to bring me back home to collect. Course he bloody was.

Once I collected the ticket, I boarded the train to Dublin - 1st class. At 60 years of age it cost me £17. I’ve noticed when I book online I can get discount for my age.

I boarded the WB Yeats (Irish Ferries) around 3pm and the ship sailed at 4:30pm. I booked a luxury cabin which came with perks (no cost) - mini bar, snacks, tea / coffee. Even breakfast was complimentary.

I’m still sailing at the moment and should arrive in France (Cherbourg) around 12:45 this afternoon. Weather currently looking miserable but the sailing is smooth. Great nights sleep last night.

On arrival at Cherbourg I have the joys of border control. Through this and get the train to Paris for my next overnight stop. Tomorrow will be a long day as I travel from Paris to Hamburg. Not sure whether to stay at Hamburg or take a sleeper to Sweden. But whatever I decide I will be in the Arctic for the weekend.

For those at home who are following this. Wi-Fi can be hit or miss while travelling. I will whenever I can.
